Looking for something to do this weekend? Check out the 8th Annual Empty Bowls Arts Festival on Saturday at Nose Creek Park! The festival will run rain or shine (hopefully, shine!) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and has something to offer for the whole family. Best of all, all proceeds will go towards supporting the Airdrie Food Bank.
The festival was even a part of Swerve’s 2014 must-do Summer festivals in Southern Alberta! http://www.calgaryherald.com/swerve/features/Your+complete+month+month+guide+summer+festivals/9838671/story.html
Entry is free, and includes:
- A delicious soup lunch from local restaurants
- Local music and art like pottery, painting, henna, graffiti and more
- A Children’s Activity Area with appearances from Ryan the Magician, Artsy Fartsy Face Painting, and local author, Gordon Perry. Your little ones will have a blast with crafts, story-telling, a chalk and bubble station, balloon animals, fingernail painting, and even a photo booth!
- The opportunity to purchase beautiful, hand-made bowls and participate in a silent auction
